Being A Woman!
Don't you just love being a woman. The flair of our brow. The intelligence of our mind, and our ability to flow and be gentle in the worst of worst moments in life. Grace and pose is all about us. We have what men want. We are what men need. We fill the earth and grant our children peace. We are mothers, sisters, and daughters of the world. Together we stand in a voice so strong, there is no one who dears not to listen.

The man who made Black History

February marks the beginning of Black History Month - an annual celebration that has existed since 1926.
Dr. Carter G. Woodson a Havard graduate created Negro History Week. This event was to be celebrated only during the 2nd week of February to include the birthdays of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln because he felt these men had a dramatic impact on the lives of Black Americans. Over time, Negro History Week has evolved into Black History Month. This is a four week long celebration respecting the excellent contribuation African Americans have made to history.

March marks the beginning of Women's History Month - an annual celebration that has existed since 1978.
In 1978, the Education Task Force of the Sonoma County Commission on the Status of Women in California, began a "Women's History Week" celebration. The week was chosen to coincide with International Women's Day, which was first celebrated March 8, 1911, in Europe.
Three years later, the United States Congress passed a resolution establishing National Women's History Week, which was expanded to a month in 1987 at the request of the National Women's History Project . Every year since then the U.S. Congress has issued a resolution for Women's History Month.

MOMMY! Please, Mommy I need. Please, Mommy I want. Mommy... she hit me. Mommy.... he will not play with me.
One of my most favorite moments is when my three year old has figured out how to get the attention she is demanding.
"Mommy I am hungry now." She says with the sweetest face.
"Okay, do you want a sandwich?" I asked my loving baby.
"No. Mommy I want cookies." She says in her most serious tone.
"No." I say. "You need to eat a sandwich or have some soup.
My little girl takes a deep breath like she is negotiating a major car deal. After a little thought she says "Okay. Peanut butter and jelly."
I give her the sandwich, milk and three cookies. In 30 mintues, it all begins all over again. Mommy, she hit me. Mommy, he will not play with me. Mommy, I want. Mommy, I need. Mommy, I have to have.
My children have video games, board games, books, their own VCR, DVD and up until the last fight... their own computer. (left computer on and it got a virus) With exception to the three meals and two snack rule, why do they keep calling my name? What is there to fight over? There is always something different and fun to do. Being at a lost for resolution... I have come up with the perfect plan. Yes... I am going to change my name. I will answer no question until my children can guess what I have changed my name too. I think this is a great challenge that will resolve my problems and make my children work for a change? lol.
Okay... maybe I won't because it is just cool knowing my children really need me. Working in an office I know I can be replaced as easily as a pair of shoes. I am able to be happy knowing my children will always be exactly what my love allows them to become. So, staying at home isn't hard at all.

Zoei says it, sings it, yells it, giggles it... "Mom, mom, mommy, MOM"
Anywhich way but loose sounds good to me.
Some times I say, "That's my name, don't wear it out." (Like we did when we were kids!)
She says, "Uh-uh, your name is Tami" "OH No, no. Mom is my REAL name. Tami is my nickname."
That gets her everytime.

I frequently threaten to change my name. I love my kids, and being a SAHM is the most important job in the world, but I sometimes long for adult converstaion. :-)

March 17th is Saint Patrick's Day - an annual celebration marked by the works of a special man of God who died on this day in 461.
Saint Patrick's Vision

Kidnapped from Britian this young Roman noble spent more than six years as a slave in the land of Ireland. In time he would write about the voice of God coming to him in a dream and telling him to begin his journey home.

So, Patrick walked nearly 200 miles,
from where it is believed he was held,
to the Irish coast. After reaching
Britain, Patrick is again called upon by
God. An angel of the Lord appears
and tells him to return to Ireland as a
missionary. Soon after, Patrick began
religious training, and study that lasted more
than fifteen years. He returned to the land of
Ireland after entering the Priesthood and began his
mission to help the Christians, already living in
Ireland, to convert the willful Irish pegan.
Did you know the first St. Patrick's Day parade took place in the United States? In modern-day Ireland, St. Patrick's Day has traditionally been a religious occasion. In the 1970s Irish laws began to mandated that pubs be closed on March 17th. In 1995 the Irish government had an interesting thought and made Saint Patrick's Day into a national celebration to showcase the best of Ireland to the rest of the world. Last year, close to one million people took part in Ireland 's St. Patrick's Festival in Dublin. This festival is now known as a multi-day celebration featuring parades, concerts, outdoor theater productions, and fireworks shows.

Grand Possibilities

When I was just a little girl my daddy
raised me to stand tall and be all a woman
should.

When I was just a little girl I was special
in the hearts of those who knew my
possiblities.

When I was just a little girl I watch my
world change from you can be anything to the
wish of wanting me to have nothing.

I stand at awe in the world that surrounds
me. I wonder how does it stand in
contradiction of what we all say the world
is suppose to be. Then I remember the world
is exactly as we believe it should be.

Our choices are our own and our reasons are
many. And now I stand only knowing all
grand possibilities.
